About this Course
As cybercrime grows and attackers use more complex tactics, professionals need sophisticated skills to respond, investigate incidents and manage risk. Information security and risk management focus on safeguarding data while aligning security decisions with business priorities and regulatory demands.
In this course, you’ll explore methods for protecting information and systems, from foundational policies and procedures to advanced technologies and auditing practices. Industry experts will share insights on securing mobile workforces, managing electronic evidence, navigating e-crime and e-discovery, and defending cloud systems. You’ll examine privacy, regulatory compliance, geopolitical factors, national security and health care data protection. By analyzing how cybersecurity risk emerges at the intersection of technology, governance and regulation — and how leaders frame and communicate risks — you’ll be prepared to take on both operational and leadership roles.
The course is designed, in part, to meet the education and training standards described in CNSS 4011 and 4012.
