About this Course

Organizations increasingly need practitioners who can assess cyber risk, apply governance thinking and translate technical findings into recommendations for decision makers. Bringing together everything you’ve learned in information security, you’ll use information assurance and governance skills to address security challenges in real organizational settings.

In this course, you’ll work through case studies of current challenges developed by industry practitioners and design information assurance strategies to address them. You’ll evaluate an organization’s cybersecurity risk posture, identify governance gaps and develop strategic recommendations to reduce risk. By presenting your findings in an executive-style briefing, you’ll build skills in communicating risks to leadership and guiding organizational decision-making. You’ll also complete a term-long capstone project simulating a consulting engagement with a local organization — giving you hands-on experience for your resume.
