Meet the Instructor
Bart Staker
Senior Research Scientist, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
Bart Staker has more than 25 years of experience managing scientific and biotechnology projects in both industry and academic research environments. He has been a founding partner in three biotechnology startups and has managed complex research programs within contract research organizations and academic centers.
Staker currently is co-director of the Seattle Structural Genomics Center for Infectious Disease at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, where he leads multidisciplinary efforts in structural biology, protein engineering and infectious disease research. He has a strong interest in applying project management principles to accelerate biotechnology product development and translational research. Staker has a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington.
